The sprouts retelling reminded me of our hunt for carrots on Xmas eve - and your daughters sound absolutely brilliant ( and I sound like my mother ! ) not a bad thing - really enjoyed this entry & found it inspiring … thank you 🙏 ps .. I am not really clear how to use this platform - hoping to learn slowly
Oh Amanda… you and me both! I often wait for my 16 year old to get home from school to explain another part of Subtack that has foxed me!
So glad you liked the post, hope you will stick around for more. It’s going to be a slow and steady year, I would love the company. You can subscribe for free by adding your email to the box in the post.
Thanks for your kind words about my daughters. I can’t lie, they are the beat of my heart, and amazing kids to boot. I sound just like my mother too (and that’s no bad thing either!).
Happy new year Sheena 🥳. Great to hear from you. Read at your leisure…. January is such a good month for cosy hibernation with comforting reading materials 🦔 📕
I love this Rebecca! In amongst all the goal-setting and year-smashing posts, this is a calm refuge which I, and no doubt so many of your other readers, need. I’ll be stepping more into this writer life alongside you, and I’m honoured to be part of this community you’re creating 😘
I wasn't thinking of writing new year's resolutions at all since they rarely worked over my five decades of life, but now I'm thinking to try yours. I started Substack in December and my newsletter is gaining traction at the speed of a grandmotherly snail, so hopefully I can continue without giving up and make it to 100 subscribers by the end of 2026. Thank you for the idea and the encouragement.

Embedding, what a great word. Wishing you and myself all the best wishes for embedding our writing in 2025 x
Definitely the word of 2026! X
What a wonderful post. I will reread it. Until then Happy New Year Rebecca 💫

You know I love having you here Ingrid ❤️
A lovely piece, Rebecca. You will bloom beautifully at just the right time ❤️
Thank you so much Maureen… late bloomers like ourselves are worth waiting for 💐
Exactly !
Sounds like a good plan!
Best one I’ve got M… just listened to my heart on this one ❤️
Enjoy the journey!
Come along for the ride M!
Perseverance, yes it's a great word and reminder to push through . Onward ✌️
Isn’t it Frances? So underrated. And it doesn’t have to be tortuous or soul destroying… just gently chipping away will suffice. ✌️
Good for you. I hope this will be a slowand steady wins the race year for you.
Thank you Patrice… I hope you will join me on this journey of slow and steadiness, gratitude and gain… community makes all the difference ☺️
I am fascinated by your metamorphosis. I will be there.
Brilliant ☺️
